Solar PV & Energy Storage System

Solgen were contacted by the owners of this beautiful new property to explore the benefits of installing a solar PV system with batteries.

Following a thorough site survey the decision was made to install a 5.26kWp PV coupled with a 7.68kWh BYD battery which would capture excess generation in the day and store for use at times of peak demand and over night.

The homeowners electric vehicle is also able to charge using surplus generation form the system, which further reduces their grid dependency and reduces C02 emissions, which is very important for them.

A ‘time of use’ tariff is primarily used for charging the electric vehicle but also enables them to charge the battery, either partially or to full capacity, at a cheaper unit rate to use during the day or overnight when weather conditions are less favorable for generation.
